What are your feelings on art that's in fic?

Does it bother you? Do you think it should be a certain size? Are you okay with banners but art sprinkled sporadically in the fic throws you out? Or do you like that? Does it give you a good or bad impression of the fic? Any preferences on how art is presented?

Meh. A lot of the time it isn't very good art. So it just makes me go, gross. And when it is good art, it doesn't show up on my kindle. So I just have to scroll through a big black space with a ?.

I agree. A lot of the time the art kind of sucks and it ruins the enjoyment of the fic slightly for me.

But, I've actually read a fic that I didn't particularly like just because the art was so damn good. Like, I just wanted to read a comic book with the art instead of the fic.

I don't know how it is for other people but most of my encounters with art-in-fic, as such, have ranged from 'okay' to 'fucking amazing'. I've never seen bad art and it's never been overly intrusive so I'm cool with it.

Honestly, the only fandom I've really encountered art in the fics is Homestuck, and I really like it. I tend to like the fic a bit more tbh. Banners don't do much for me but seeing a scene from the fic illustrated inbetween paragraphs makes me squee. I'm sad I don't see it in other fandoms.

Don't like it. It's never done well. I wouldn't mind it if it were done well, but it never is.

I think it should be presented as professionally as possible within the format. But otherwise I am all for it, it's nice to have breaks in text if something is a particularly long story.

It's usually contributed in a good way to the fic where I've seen it, but I've only came across it a handful of times.

I don't see it often and don't mind it either. Sometimes it's decent, sometimes it isn't, but as long as the fic is to my taste the art isn't a big factor for me; I can scroll past it easily enough.

I haven't seen art in fic. I've seen art linked, though. Actually, two of the hottest sets of porny fanart I've seen I discovered linked to a fic I really like. So I'm totally okay wit links.

I don't think it would bother me to have art in there as long as it served a purpose.

I tend to read AO3 on mobile. I have difficulty reading for a long time on full-size computers. The art never shows up completely on the mobile view and it messes up the page formatting a little. It is very irritating and I would not choose to put art in my fic, but rather link to it from the author's note instead.
