All the birds have flu and they've had to kill off entire flocks to keep it from spreading. Our governor has declared a state of emergency to help the turkey farmers (and now it's affecting chickens).

This might affect Thanksgiving, FYI.

FYI, and maybe this doesn't matter, but they say the flu doesn't affect people. It's not like the bird flu in China. It's just making the birds sick.

Yet. It is still influenza, and like all influenza viruses and infections it is more than capable of jumping species and mutating into the walking dead within the space of days. So it isn't infecting people yet.

I did hear it hit Iowa too. I don't know if the governor declared a state of emergency though.
