Re: Special snowflake thread

I have no debt and a shitload of money to my name.

At my age (early 20s) that's quite uncommon.

It's all due to mom and dad, though, so it's not like I can take any credit.

But...yeah...everyone around me is in debt so that's my special snowflake status.

Would you mind posting your name and address, I'd like to beat you senseless in a fit of jealousy.

If it's any consolation, I don't really spend any of that money because I'm freakishly scared of being poor.

I have no furniture in my apartment (apart from a hand-me down table, $20 Walmart folding chair, hand-me down microwave, and mattress).

But...I yeah...I don't blame you for being jealous because the peace of mind is probably the best thing about it. The actual money itself though...I don't have anything or anyone to spend it on.

You have lots of disposable income, no debt, and are not even enjoying it? Jesus, fuck. You need an ass whooping so learn to at least enjoy what you got.

Honestly, it's tough to spend money when you have no one to spend it on.

I live alone and have no friends (or family nearby -- not for a couple hundred miles).

There's not much to do alone to be honest.

No it fucking isn't. You post your address, I'll meet you at the nearest McDonald's after sundown and show you how to spend money. Bring ten grand with you, you are going to get schooled.

DA

Why meet at McDonald's? It's so much easier to spend money at, say, Fry's Electronics.

Yeah, but McDs has shittier security in their parking lots. You know why they say do any business you organize off craigslist in a cop station parking lot or in a bank? That is why you need to come to McD's.

Spending it on charity is always an option.

Oh, I remember you from a while back. Have you thought about seeing someone concerning your fear? I think that was the advice the last time, too.

Hey anon I remember your posts from last time. How's it been going? I had to buy a car recently and now I'm just paranoidly eying the bank all the time and doing ny best to avoid buying anything including food. fretting over $ for good reason or not can really do a number on your health.

I have no friends and no one to hang out with. You wouldn't know it because I'm ordinary otherwise.

Ironically that was also me in my early 20's. But I have accrued a tiny bit of debt since then.

How much money are we talking? Because I have a feeling that "a shitload" might mean different things here...

Enough to put me through school about twice? Not millions of dollars, but.

Ah. I'm sitting on about half a million. Already finished with undergrad (in grad school, but I get a stipend and don't pay tuition).

But I guess if you consider private school is $50,000 a year and then 4 years * 2 then that would be $400,000.

Which is comparable I suppose.

Huh, well. Perhaps you'd like to give a little, then to a person in great need.

I'm not that anon, but I can help.
