Gay women around here seem to flit one of two ways: super mega anime nerd I would not be caught dead with and thus their academics don't factor into the equation, or far too lipstick with no prospects. I just want a nice, smart girl who doesn't mind my geeky posters and political bitchings.

That confused me too! I thought she meant she shipped the actors. But I think the OP of the secret usually ships anime characters, or at least that's my guess. I love Shawn/Gus and nobody seems to think I'm weird for it. I guess Shawn/Lassiter is more popular but whatever.

I think it's the eternal appeal of enemy and rival ships over friendship ships. Not that that's a horrible thing but I see way more Shawn/Lassiter than Shawn/Gus even though they act totally married to me. (I like Lassiter with Juliet...)

I never thought about it that way. I just... make it all up in my head, I guess. Because I do ship lots of characters who only exist in pixel form. Though this icon is totally not serious. In some ways it's less embarrassing when they're not played by real actors. Not that I think Dulé Hill is actually sitting up nights worrying that I think he's hot.

I've always been a friendship ship person myself, because it just seems so much more natural to me, though I know I'm in the minority, but it seriously surprises me that Lassiter gets shipped more with Shawn. I mean beyond the fact any character dynamic, Gus is... well... way hotter.

It's odd that fandom's enemyship desire trumps its superficiality.

Also, I do the pixel thing too. The difference is the degree of realism. I can't really do the porn thing when there's an emphasis on an anime style, because it just feels too disconnected =\ But I can understand completely where you're coming from, too.

(And it's okay. Cid Highwind is my videogame boyfriend.)

Not only is Gus way hotter, he's freaking adorable. He's smart, sweet, he's a science fiction geek, he's a loyal friend. If Gus were real I'd... be sorry he's too young for me or something.

If Gus were real, I'd be infinitely sad that I can't seem to make it work with men.

Not that I wouldn't give him a damn good shot.

I totally ship Lassiter/Shawn more solely on the fact that all the teasing and snarking back and forth just seems so... flirty! I love Gus as well, but he and Shawn are way too BFF for me to see a romantic relationship between them.

Oh no, I totally understand the appeal and am completely on board to read some good stuff, but I've just always been more of a friendship shipping person when you put a gun to my head (and thus adequate at overcoming the is-it-maybe-too-BFF-to-work stigma), and Psych is no exception.

LoL, I dig that too. But truthfully... I think Shawn is just so overly friendly with everybody, that he can be paired with anybody! That boy just loves invading personal space and being all touchy-feely XD
