Yeah, she kind of annoyed me too which is weird because I like Felicia Day herself and Charlie isn't really all that dissimilar from her. I think she just didn't fit well into the show for me. I like Charlie, but honestly I get a fuckton of amusement out watching people lose their shit and all the wailing and teeth-gnashing over "WHYYYYYY DO THE WOMEN HAVE TO DIE!? *SOBS*"

I like her. I don't mind her exit, but her character was in a way the show holding out an olive branch towards the fandom. Which I find very endearing.

I liked her and the episodes she was in. I'm not torn up that she's gone and it doesn't bother me on the level of fridging. I would be happy if she came back somehow for the occasional episode.

I adored her, and was sad that she was gone but all the folks screaming "REPRESENTATION!" and "fuck the show" and "the writers" just made me not care anymore.

What bothers me most is the fact that there have been several better-written, actually relevant female characters that SPN has fridged over the years, and Charlie's the only one people shriek about.

I guess that's what being Tumblr's Poster Child of Representation does for you.

(Full disclosure: I'm probably the demographic she was supposed to appeal to, but I found her insufferably irritating and the whole characterization patronizing as fuck.)

I haven't been a part of the fandom for too long, but people also lost their shit over Kevin because he's Asian. There was also pissing and moaning about Abaddon's death, which was totally ridiculous in my eyes but there you have it.

I liked her, thought she was kind of cute and that's about it. But I stopped watching a couple of episodes after she turned up so I never saw her anymore than that.

I honestly couldn't be mad at her death because outside of what you said, Felicia Day is such a horrible actress I have trouble dealing with her in anything.

Charlie as a character could be tolerable on occasion but fandom's outrage is just funny to me when they should know what show they're watching. Anyone who isn't Sam/Dean/Cas will be killed without a chance of permanent resurrection.

Sausage fest shows sure have a way of drawing misogynistic female fans all in one place

I love Supernatural and all of the characters and I get invested in everyone. I was upset Charlie died, I loved Felicia Day and the character she played. But I respect the writers and the show enough to roll with their punches.

I'm upset when anyone gets killed off the show.

The reason why so many fans are upset about Charlie's gruesome, off-screen killing is that she was a representative for the average hardcore SPN fan: female, nerdy and queer.
