Nope. He is problematic too. He used the word gypsy repeatedly on the uhhhh that British talk show where people sit on couches. MARK RUFFALO IS DEAD TO THEM!

Heh, whoops! I haven't seen that, which is weird because I love his Graham Norton stuff.

I'm wondering what context was behind that, though?

The Liz said her character was dressed like a gypsy, Norton told her it was offensive. Ruffalo and Renner were trashed and started chanting it because Norton told them to stop.

Ugh, for the whole Bruce/Nat controversy, I saw some parts of fandom accuse him forcing bruce/nat into the aou script and purposely making Scarlett uncomfortable. Even though there's literally no evidence of that and watching any interview with Mark and Scarlett will show you that they get along perfectly well and consider each other friends. I saw a few people send him a few stupid tweets about how much they hated bruce/nat too.
Like if you hate Bruce/Nat fine, whatever. But don't shit on the actual actors okay that's not cool.

That's fucking ridiculous, where would they even get that notion?

Because idk clintasha shippers (the ones I mostly saw making the accusations) are balls to the wall batshitcrazy for coco puffs.

I've seen those rumors and don't believe it. I've been a fan of his for a while now and it seems wildly out of character, not to mention something cooked up on Tumblr to go along with the 'ALL WHITE PEOPLE ARE PROBLEMATIC!!1' hype.

I'm completely with you on the whole hating actors because of ships thing. It's embarrassing as hell and I hate that it's so easy to project those things on actors these days thanks to social media.

I know, it's so damn mean.
It wasn't a huge part of the fandom, but it was enough to make me really annoyed, I mean holy crap stop projecting your stupid ship drama on real people please.
And it's also pretty ironic because out of the whole cast, Ruffalo is probably the one who's said and done the least amount of dumb shit lol.

Oh, good lord. Romany butthurt is one of the more ridiculous corners of SJW wank.

Like, yeah, there are some terrible stereotypes, but Western Europeans and Americans very often don't even mean "gypsy" (or "gitane") as an insult. It's a word for a romanticized nomadic lifestyle.

Not to mention Gypsy is still a generally accepted term in the UK, where the interview took place. AFAIK it's still on the census. Not that being on government forms is a pass, but it's the only term I've heard the group use to identify themselves. From what I've heard, Norton's reaction is more about his own issues* than the PC term.

*I read (but haven't confirmed) that his family is Irish Traveller, who are included in the same category on the census but are distinct in many ways.
