Shit, Leland was a constant source of amusement; I honestly thought he was getting out alive, and then...well. He made me laugh then feel like a jerk for laughing. He was just the right kind of asshole; you can't hate him even though he's scum. This show had a lot of that for me.

I totally agree, Wesley is a good looking professional and I love his snark. I also found his distaste for violence kind of endearing. Which is crazy considering his job and the shit he threatens people with and orders on a regular basis, but it was a nice change to see an antagonist that didn't necessarily want to get their hands messy. Also, like I said, his devotion to Fisk felt oddly sweet so that helped make him more human in my eyes.

And Fisk was much better than I would've expected, but everything was really. I knew D'Orofrio was a talented actor, but I've never seen him so vicious and intimidating before. (And alternately, almost childlike and insecure in some scenes. It was an interesting contrast.) I liked his origin story, and even though I wasn't exactly willing him to succeed at any point, I appreciated that he didn't come off as simply power hungry. You see a lot of that with antagonists, and it can be boring. At least Fisk had a goal, and even if he was wrong I enjoyed watching him.

That fight scene was SO good. I was holding my breath in amazement/anticipation. Marvel did a good job of making the action in this brutal, yet entertaining as hell.
