Heh knowing my parents there's no WAY they'd let me do that. Let me put it to you this way, if I HAD gone to Animazement...I would have had to leave at 7 because my mom wasn't okay with me being out after dark.

But hey I MIGHT get to go to a mall tomorrow.

Let me guess: your mom is like mine, who foams at the mouth if I'm out when it's just beginning to get dark, and thinks it's dangerous to take the garbage to the curb after nightfall. I'll never see thirty again and I don't even live in the same state, but my mother still demands to know if I'm home and the doors are locked when she calls me at 8 p.m. on a summer night, and if I'm not, the lecturing starts.

I never managed to, so I don't know how to do it, but you've got to find some way to assert yourself in this or your mom will still be expecting you to impose a curfew on yourself when you're forty.

Something like that yeah. I can't tell you how much I hear about how I must "respect them" which can mean anything from 'don't disagree' to 'do what I say because I'm your mother."

The problem with standing up to her is power. She has the power, and sometimes when I go against her I lose things. and more often than not it seems like the majority of psychologists end up being on her side. I feel like I may just have to wait until I have disability insurance to take care of medical needs and when we're close enough in location to some of my friends, and just leave.
