Thread starter here - wanted to add that while I actually do think "Friday" is terrible, so it doesn't quite count, I don't think it's too much worse than a lot of popular songs. Rather, the issue is that Rebecca Black didn't have the singing voice or music to get away with such a terrible song.

I love the version of the song I have. fun. did a cover it at a radio show and it's a little different than the original.

I unironically like this song. I think it's really unfair to judge it from a non-teenager perspective.

It's not meant for 40 year old guys, nor for 40 year old guys trying to put themselves into the shoes of 15 year old girls. It's for 15 year old girls, and people who know/remember being 15 year old girls. I think it's a stupid-as-hell song if I'm looking at it according to my current tastes, but I still identify with it through my memory of being a 15 year old girl once.

Seasons in the Sun, Tell Laura I Love Her, Oh Where Oh Where Could My Baby Be . . . There are a lot of really sappy sad songs that I don't think are THAT bad. At least they're not catchy enough to stick in your head.

All About That Bass. I know it's pandering and kinda stupid, but it's catchy and it puts me in a good mood.

Um, a lot? I like a lot of catchy upbeat songs, cheesy/bad or not. I mostly only hate cheesy/bad songs if they also have no melody to speak of.

I find the old Hannah Montana songs genuinely uplifting or just plain fun. I love listening to them when I'm out getting carts.
