Expectations Too High

I got my expectations too high for something and now I'm disappointed. How about you guys?

Are you excited for something that you think you should tone it back? Have your expectations being too high before ruined something that might've been okay otherwise? How do you combat getting your expectations too high?

My expectations for celebrities are usually pretty damn high. I expect the best of people, but people just...aren't the best. I'm working on being reasonable.

I haven't had high expectations of anything since 2010. Well, that isn't true, I've been desperately hoping for some sort of nuclear war triggering blunder from America, but that hasn't happened, so I guess I got my hopes too high over that. .

I should probably dial back my excitement for my wrasslin shows next weekend, because the more I think about how blind I fucking am, the more I realize I probably won't be able so see shit and I should just resign myself to living vicariously thorough the roar of the crowd. Sigh.

I'm usually super apathetic, period, but I'm going through a bit of a manic/emotional cycle right now, so I can't really look forward to my depressive/apathetic cycle again. (Not that I'm not still mostly apathetic right now, but I am enjoying more emotions than normal even if they are a bit out of control.)

I manage to convince myself I have no expectations, but I still feel disappointed all the time. I don't know how that works.

Not me, but my pal once told their expectations for FFXIII got too high and when they finally managed to finish the game they said it wasn't what they'd been hoping for.

Given how great Forever Evil was, and how DC seems to have really made some great strides in the past year, I was looking forward to Convergence, but so far it's been a bit mediocre overall. I haven't read any of the issues for this month yet (I'm a bit behind) but it's taken a while to pick up speed.
