The moral of this story: Do not talk to kids that are not your kids.

See there are 4 different outcomes here:

He talks to the kid - And he is dangerous - Mother does not react - Kid gets Raped

He talks to the kid - And he is not dangerous - Mother does react - Everyone is embarrassed

He does not talk to the kid - And he is dangerous - No negative outcome what so ever.

He does not talk to the kid - And he is not dangerous - No negative outcome what so ever.

Not relevent for the arguemtn I'm making but for sake of accuracy, there are 6 outcomes. the other two are:

He talks to the kid - And he is not dangerous - Mother does not react - No negative outcome what so ever.

He talks to the kid - And he is dangerous - Mother does react - Saves her kid from Rape.

My point being the easiest and most assured way for anyone to avoid any negative outcome is to not talk to kids that are not your kids.

Or, he says one sentence to kids because he is being polite. Mother (at most) tells some security a guy might have taken a picture of her kids. Nothing else happens because that is how rational people act.

And how is the mother to know if that one sentence is "Where's the exit" or "I'm going to show you my penis"?

Not know how bad the situation is, you can't blame a parent for them taking the approach that the situation is as bad as it possibly can be.

I can't blame her for going to security (even if I think it is an over-reaction). I can blame her 100% for posting a picture of him online calling him a pedophile.

Do I really?Why is that?

And why Is it that you blame her? Do you have children? Do you know how heavy the burden of protecting young defenceless lives from all the harms that exist?

Leniency and "benefit of the doubt" are luxuries not afforded to people who have to protect their children.

If he had been dangerous, this post would have saved innumerable children. Going to security would have done nothing at all. In this case it was unnecessary, but a parent has a responsibility to look for, and ensure against, the worst case scenario.

Those kids are more likely to be hurt and molested by the mother than a stranger, so...
