I agree with you. Whedon's "feminism" hasn't evolved. He's settled comfortably into a kind of feminism that doesn't challenge him (or anyone else) to grow further in understanding.

While I agree, in some sense, it's difficult to me to see the criticisms of Whedon as coming from a place of understanding.

Guess it depends what criticisms one has of him, or has read of him, in regards to feminism. Or what kind of feminism one tries to practice.
