They were basically a "darker and edgier" take on The Baby-Sitter's Club (following Dawn after she moves back to California) and much more along the lines of SVH. SVT was basically BSC-level innocence, though some of the characters were more intentionally nasty. (Whereas with BSC we were supposed to sympathize with them most of the time, even when in hindsight they pulled a looot of crap.)
