I think Lake's long hairdo was more worrisome because she tended to wear it cascading down over one eye-- and if you're leaning down towards machinery with hair falling down in front...!

I once chopped my hair into the salad I was leaning over to make, no joke. If it had been machinery like spinning blender blades it would have ended a lot worse.
