Does anyone else get tripped up by actors' actual ages?

I just watched Tomorrowland. Spoilers in the next comment.

George Clooney's character's sort of love interest is played by a 13-year-old. And fictionally, I’m okay with it because her character is animatronic and he met her at about the age she looks like. But there’s kind of a disconnect as I’m watching it because the actors are real people at their actual ages (though, interestingly, Clooney is playing a little older than he actually is). Though, to clarify, there’s no physical relationship between them (either past or present), it’s just implied that he had feelings for her and maybe still has unresolved issues stemming from those feelings.

I just saw something today that said Rebel Wilson is 36? I...thought she was in her early/mid 20's.....

Yes, apparently she's actually 36, but she shaved a few years off her "professional" age, since the older you get in Hollywood, the less work you get. Unfortunately, in the internet age, this doesn't work as well as it used to. Her true age was discovered and published, and drama ensued.

I guess it was a slow news day.

I remember being super surprised that the high schooler Jackson was played by thirty-something Jason Earles in Hannah Montana. I mean, he looked older than the rest of the kid cast, but not that much older.

I had no idea John Cho was 42. He looks about 27.

All the damn time; usually I think they're younger. Crystal Reed for example, I thought couldn't be a day over 22, but she's 30 now.

And Michael Emerson, I thought he was in his mid to late 40's until someone on f!s posted that he was 60. That blew my fucking mind and I still have trouble believing it.

Like, Lucy Liu... She's 46. I pegged her for 8 years younger.

For some reason I thought Jensen Ackles was older, though? Not sure why... To me he looks in his mid 30's, but I thought he was 40 by now anyway.

Maybe I'm just bad with ages, though.
