I'm sure you've seen Alien and Aliens for the isolation and body horror. Evil Dead, maybe?

[REC] 1 and 2? I found those to be pretty intense, especially the first one.

I've not seen the second one. I assume you think it is worth a watch? Sequels often disappoint when it comes to horror movies.

It's pretty much the first movie, part 2. I liked it, though it's admittedly slightly weaker than the first.

How about sci-fi horror manga or anime? Parasyte falls into that with aliens latching onto human bodies, taking them over and manipulating how the flesh moves. The hero binds his arm on the first day when they infected a lot of people, including him, which turns out to be a boon because the parasite couldn't completely take control, so now he's the dude out to stop the alie invasion.

Manga and Anime is fine (though I would prefer anime).

Watch all the other John Carpenter movies (well, except for The Ward). They're nothing like The Thing but John Carpenter still rules.

... I guess I don't actually have any useful recommendations, sorry.

I've seen most of them. I love The Fog.
