This makes me sad because a few years ago, before he seriously got famous as Edward Elric, he and I used to exchange e-mails fairly regularly and he was a seriously, seriously nice guy. Like, consoled me when I was feeling lonely and college and everything. After FMA we fell out of touch and now when I hear about more and more asshat behavior from him...it just really disappoints me.

God, that is disappointing. It must be horrible to hear about a nice guy's nasty behavior after being out of contact for a while. I'm sorry that he's become so arrogant with his newly found fame, but still, it doesn't change the fact that he had hurt or angered a lot of people.

Hope I don't step on anyone's toes with this.

It's fine, he was really sweet to me and I like some of his voice work, but that's it. I'm not gonna support him being arrogant and having his little church of fans and who knows what else. (Also, him preaching at conventions and stuff just...weirds me out. It's nice for him that he's such a strong believer but marketing it to his fans that way? Something about it does not sit well with me. On the other hand, I find it funnily ironic that he got really famous by playing a seriously atheistic character. XD)

I know. He was always really nice to me, and even remembered who I was after meeting me at a convention a year before. I just don't see how he could become so horrible so quickly.
