I would LOVE a reboot of The Mummy franchise, one that's genderflipped with an evil queen back from the dead to avenge the murder of her son. It could be glorious and there's tons of great historical material to draw from... but the franchise was so popular, I don't think anyone would want it rebooted so soon. :(

I didn't say popular movies never got rebooted, I said that I wasn't sure anyone, i.e. the audience, would want a reboot of such a popular franchise. Especially one the fans deemed to be so good with nothing that needed improving upon. But thanks for your unnecessarily snarky reply, I guess. I never expected one given the innocuous nature of my secret. :(

And rebooting has nothing to do with fans. It has to do with money. So, if the company thinks it can be make money, they will reboot it.

I think there is going to be a reboot of sorts. From what I've read online, Universal Horror wants to do their own version of MCU

So.. Here's hoping we get a good movie out of this

Man, I'm so torn on this.

On one hand it could be a great idea because the first two Mummy films are amazing and I love them to pieces, and I could so dig a lady-Imhotep.

But on the other I would be so terrified of them royally fucking it up, like trying to make a reboot 'gritty' and 'realistic' when one of the reasons the Mummy films worked so well is because they knew exactly how silly they were and ran with it.
