Text: Even I'm baffled by the fact that I think crushing on older guys like THEM (in black text) are ok...

You know what's weird, I'll see a younger version of an older actor and go oh wow they're so hot and then feel guilty about it if they are younger than me at the time of filming. Idek.

Sometimes I feel weird when I go back and watch my old tv/movie crushes, whom I'm a lot older then now versus how old they were at the time of filming and it feels super weird. It's like I'm still slightly in love but it feels wrong even though in reality the actor is usually older then I am.

That may be my problem with Max Pirkis. I first saw him in "Rome", which he filmed when he was sixteen. Problem was, I saw it when I was eighteen. So while he was of legal age in reality, he wasn't in the show, and that was the persona I was crushing on.

I don't know, it's all very awkward and confusing.

(And we're in complete agreement with your first paragraph, obviously.)

18 and 16 is hardly cradle-robbing, though, even if it's technically ~not legal~ (and even then that can vary, some places has laws where it's okay if two people are close in age, even if one is under 18 and the other over)

In Britain it is perfectly legal, no restrictions. Age of consent across the board is 16.

I think I will always and forever have problems with the kids from the Harry Potter movies being grown up and hot now, not because they're all about 10 years younger than me, but because when the first movie came out they were only ~12.

Stupid society saying men always have to be older (now here will come the "buuuut it has to be that way because men are fertile longer!!!!").

I always think, well, women generally live longer. If women marry men who are much older, and the marriage lasts, they're most likely going to be spending many years alone at the end of their lives.

It's called tastes OP. And it also depends on how the younger dude acts. Does the actor act kind of young? Immature? That could be setting off the "robbing the cradle" feel for you. If he acts really mature, then...I dunno, it could be the baby face.

IDK, but I feel the same way. Maybe not the robbing the cradle thing, but I don't find guys that look young to be that attractive regardless of their actual age.

I don't think it helps in this instance that Pirkis is very baby-faced, and the others look damn good for their ages.

I've always been into older men myself. When I was young I remember thinking a lot of guys my age looked really YOUNG and I couldn't be into someone unless they at least looked my age. Back then it had everything to do with being tall and going through puberty before the boys, but it became a lifelong trend.

Now I am finding gray hair or spots of gray extremely attractive on a man and if he looks too young them I'm not here for it, even if he's my age.

I guess all I can say to you OP is *shrug* I find the top row more appealing myself.

Maybe it's just the comparison.

Perhaps it's because when you see those older men in their movies and in photos, they tend to be a lot younger than they are now? So you know their real age now, but you're mostly reacting to their younger selves.

Or else you just have a thing for older men.
