Kink Meme Etiquette

(Anonymous) 2015-05-27 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I filled an H/C prompt but I ended up changing a lot of the details of the prompt. I feel like I filled the spirit of the prompt vis-a-vis the pairing and the H/C. But the way the one character got hurt was slightly different, I didn't use any of the secondary characters mentioned, and I made it more comic-based than movie-based (which I think is the biggest "turn off").

Because of all the changes, I said that my fill was RTYI in my reply to the prompt itself. This prompt is on an older prompt post but it was prompted this year. My question is, can I still link to my story on the Fill Page? Or would that be weird/rude since I changed so much of the prompt?

You should help people find your fic, so ofc link it! Writers usually note that the fill is not exactly what was requested and that they hope someone else will fill it. After that they post fills as usual.
