That's...

I agree that being human is what he wants and therefore what he ought to pursue. I'm not sure that trans* is necessarily the best framework for dealing with that (not least because of the complexity of him being an artificially constructed yet sentient being).

OP

Oh, I know, it's not exact. But better than the shit the post was saying, which was that he was a disabled character and needed to embrace his disability and stop pretending to want to be human, even though HE wanted to become human, no one else pushed him into it.

(Anonymous) 2015-05-28 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
oh, yeah, that's super stupid

(Anonymous) 2015-05-29 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
It's so nice there are people out there on the internet to tell disabled people how they should feel about themselves!

(Anonymous) 2015-05-29 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
But Data's not real, he's a fictional character!

(Anonymous) 2015-05-29 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
So? Fictional characters exist so that they can be related to real people. The attitude one shows about an issue affecting a fictional character says something about your attitude to that issue in the real world.

You know this already of course, since you're on a fandom comm, but just anyhow.

god, I hate social justice warriors. stop spraying your issues and rage all over fictional characters, kthx

(Anonymous) 2015-05-29 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
And here comes the SJW bullshit.

Do us all a favor, go find a lake to drown in your self - rightiousness in.

Yeah, embrace your disability, don't fight it! "With physical therapy, you could regain the use of that arm, but eh, that sounds HARD." "Medication schmedication, I have inner peace!" "Sorry, Dr. Hawking, but we feel that ALS has as much right to your nervous system as you do."
