That's a great strategy as long as fanworks are better than the canon.

I know a fan who feels that she has nothing to contribute by writing a fic or meta. She squees, posts screencaps, translates fics and briefly writes about her impressions. I wonder what would she write or draw if she decides to go all in, nevermind the quality or the triteness of her work.
