Haha, Louisiana. Bon chance finding fandom there.

Actually, that's a lie; there's still a good bit of it (man, I was at the first Numa-Rei-No Con, and that was good times), but still, sometimes, it feels like the lamest, saddest place for a geek to be.

And yet one of my best friends, who I met in karate, turned into one of my best fandom friends. She hesitantly turned talk to fandom one day. I mentioned that I wrote fic and she squeed cause she'd read my stuff XD So now we can just get our geek on and it's lots of fun ^_^

But you're right, sometimes it does feel like a geekalectual waste land.

Well, I've got a small little posse of geeks back home, and we're very tight. And we did meet by pure happenstance and become friends because at the time we were all into DBZ (oh man, long time ago).
Heh. I met a lot of fellow geeks at karate. We drifted apart, haven't heard from many of them sense, though.

Man, it's cool (and a little weird) meeting people who know you from your work online. Cracks me up like woah.

I am actually glad I never met any of my fellow DBZ fans. Turns out most of them were batshit insane *shudders and stays faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar far away from that fandom*

Fandom meeting real life can be interesting. You can find out that someone cool online might be really super obnoxious or vice versa. The internet is funny like that.
