Well, sometimes people in fandom go out in cosplay for the sheer lulz of it, so I can sort of understand why she'd do it, but at the same time, talking about nothing but Naruto the whole time..that's a little ridiculous. IMHO, public cosplay is all in good fun, as long as they're not like "LOOKITME, I=SASUKE," or are doing it on a dare/for the lulz, or if the cosplay is of a more realistic variety, like something a normal person might wear. (I would not condone someone going out to anything buy a con in full Darkstalkers cosplay, for instance, but something like Peach Girl isn't bad.)
I hope I'm making sense. Geez, I need to stop roaming F!S at 2 AM.

Yeah, you're making sense. It just seems really bad in particular when it's Naruto.

I mean, I used to know a guy who had a jacket like Ed's from FMA that he would wear sometimes, and it wasn't too bad - it was just the jacket and it's not particularly outlandish-looking.

I don't know, there's a line between being proud of your colours and looking like a dork, and some people just cross it. (I'm all for doing for the lulz, though. I'd crack up if someone cosplayed and walked around IC on a busy street, randomly talking to people, and put it up on YouTube. Damn that would be awesome. XD)

rofl, you're right, there's just something about Naruto cosplay...I guess because it's so popular, it's hard to avoid being recognized, whereas other series are a little more obscure so not everyone who watches TV will know who it's a costume.

I understand that too--especially if you get it commissioned or something, why waste it by not wearing it outside cons? If it can be mistaken for something like street fashion or somesuch, that is.

Yeah, you're right xD; I admit to being a bit of a loser, but there are some people who astonish me with their utter dorkdom. (Wow, I want to to that now XD; If you're into Death Note at all, I've found videos of cosplayers riding bikes/skateboards and frightening young children in a park, if that counts...)

Oh yes, I fully admit to being a dork as well. Fully half of my shirts are anime-related and I never leave the house without my Trigun bag. But there are dorks and there are dorks, if you know what I mean. Or maybe I'm just a wee bit hypocritical.

And LINK. Death Note + frightening small children = <3

Oh, I know what you mean. I walk the line of dork/DORK on a daily basis. I still mourn the loss of my Sailor Moon shirt (it's been lost for three years, FYI.) There hasn't been much decent, wearable merch of my favorites around though, thank God, or I'd be coated in it.
There are people who fanatically enjoy a series, then there are those who LIVE FOR THIS SERIES OMG EVERYTHING I OWN IS RELATED TO IT AND I AM ONLY FRIENDS WITH PEOPLE WHO LOVE IT TOO and that's when I think things get out of hand. I mean sure, I try to get people to watch the things I like, but I still talk to them if they don't like it -_-

I am fairly certain that all I want right now in life are friends who are willing to do this sort of thing with me. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19MsfYryXlg)

I keep thinking that there's got to be a way to photoshop your own designs and get them printed onto shirts or something (in a way that actually sticks and doesn't suck). Either that or I need to take up needlepoint. :P (I do wish that most anime shirts were made in cuts other than 'default loose guy-type'. My wardrobe is more gender-neutral than I'd like. :/)

LOL, that video is pretty win, in the best and nerdiest way possible. :P

Screenprinting? It's pretty hard to make it be nice though if I remember correctly :x Cafepress is always an option too xD Oh GOD, I KNOW! I hate that there are so many badass-looking t-shirts that I'm reluctant to buy just because I have a plethora of baggy guy-shirts and get enough "may I help you sir"s already because I like loose-fitting pants. (I don't really mind much, but still, there's a limit to it.)

They've uploaded others too on that same account, it makes me so happy to know there are people like that ♥ I'm hoping one day to go to a gay club in full crossplay just to see what happens and I don't want to do it alone -.-
