F!S Anon Meme (the ??th!)

Secrets, rants, opinions, anything you want to say about your fandom or a fandom or fandom in general, do it here! Anonymously, of course. Get it all off your chest.

Some ground rules:
1. Going anon is encouraged but not absolutely required.
2. No autoplaying/autolooping embeds, or embeds that cover/stretch the screen.
3. No dropping personal info or IRL contact info, etc.

That's about it, though!

I'll be linking some general/general-fandom threads I see so people don't repost new threads with the same stuff. If you want me to link your thread up here, drop a link in the first comment!

Sorry that you've had such poor personal experiences, but I believe that laws are important and they have to be upheld, labour laws and immigration laws both.

If you want to change the immigration laws in your country, then by all means vote for change, since at the moment no-one has the right to just move into another country when they please. Besides, breaking laws just leads to the kind of community you just described.

If that's the case, please explain why it's okay when white people just move into another country when they please, as they've done (and continue to do it) in Africa and the Middle East and, uh, almost everywhere else. It's one rule for colonial states, another rule for everyone else.

Why are 'the laws important'? Who are they important to? As I explained, their main effect is to permit exploitation of migrants and birth-citizens alike - is that what's important to you? Note that no countries are seriously attempting to deport all the 'illegal' immigrants within their borders; they're generally tolerated. It's really awfully convenient for some people to have a class of 'illegal workers' around when they need them. I'm sure they're glad you feel that's important.

It's one rule for colonial states, another rule for everyone else.

NAYRT but like... I'm not sure how well that argument works if you're also opposed to colonial exploitation

I don't follow you? The problem with colonial exploitation is the colonial exploitation part, not the crossing borders part. My whole point is, no one REALLY thinks it's a sin to cross a border to work. If you're doing it in the name of 'free trade', a 'business trip', or as a military contractor then the wealthy nations will declare your migration to be just fine and say that anyone who opposes you is a protectionist or an enemy of development, boo hiss. If you look at what kind of border-crossing is bureaucratically acceptable and what kind isn't, it's very clearly all about privilege. One rule for the global upper class and another rule for the global lower class.

My point is that, if we accept that conclusion, then there are two justifiable conclusions that follow: either freedom of borders should be permitted for all, or forbidden for all. But either of those conclusions can be reached. So I can agree with you and say that migration shouldn't be illegal, or I could say that free trade policies, globalization, military contracting, multinational corporations exploiting poor companies, etc are also bad and should be ended.

OK, when white people move into other countries, they have to do it by the laws of those countries, and don't even try to claim otherwise. I can't move into China, hell, I can't even move into the US whenever I feel like it.

The laws are important to everyone who doesn't want to live in anarchy. Since the rest is just you making up bullshit about how I supposedly support exploitation by proxy, I'll be ending this conversation here.

You know who else believed laws about national identity were important & had to be upheld? e_e Even if he wrote them himself?

All such laws were written by someone for some reason, maybe a bad one.

At best, you're a sick racist who assumes that 'darkies' are inferior. I say, 'at best,' because that means you can be educated out of it.

At worst, you're a legal-positivist useful idiot to the racists and the slavers who benefit from denying people legal status. I say, 'at worst,' because that kind of "follow the law because it's the law" thinking is almost totally useless to a participant in a democratic franchise. How will you ever judge if a law against something was badly designed?

Durr, gee, dunno. Whoever must you be talking about? Our entire parliamentary and legal system?

And the whole "if you disagree with me, you must be an ebil racist!11!" schtick is old and tired.
