The Camp Granada tune is actually by Amilcare Ponchielli, from his 'Dance of the Hours' :}. If that helps! /dork

Yep. A bunch of modern tunes have their roots in specific classical stuff. Like the chorus of Be Our Guest coming straight out of Mahler's Third: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ianiq1274EA

Yeah Disney loves lifting stuff from the classics. They let Tchaikovsky do a lot of their soundtrack work for them for Sleeping Beauty :p.

So, I always knew that the Once Upon a Time came from the Sleeping Beauty waltz, but then I heard the full song on the radio last year or so and in the middle the "I wonder.. I wonder why each little bird..." theme started playing and I just thought to myself "EVEN THE 'I WONDER' BIT, DISNEY? WAS NOTHING ORIGINAL?!??!"

But enjoyed it all the same.

Happens to me all the time... especially with older songs.

From an anon currently wearing her Homer is a Dope shirt to you, A++++++, Anon.

(And no, that last + is NOT Kahlua.)

But yes, this. I was thinking of that episode when I read this secret as well.

Now I have Hello Muddah Hello Faddah stuck in my head. Great.

Same happened to me with Corpse Party anime's opening and Jason Mraz's I'm Yours.

Pretty much all of Allan Sherman's songs are tunes lifted from other songs- that was his whole shtick. Like someone said above, "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah" is from "Dance of the Hours."
