I can understand this. I'm a bit partial to fanfiction of this ship (though it's far from my favorite MCU ship) but it definitely falls into the "will never be canon, nor should it" category.

Honestly, I think shipping in general would be a lot more laid back and fun if less people cared about whether their pairing should be canon. Half the time, even if there's no "serious" reason that a pairing shouldn't be canon, I still don't want it to be because I don't think I'd like how it would be portrayed in canon. And that's okay.

I agree so much with your second paragraph.

I agree with both your paragraphs. I like fic about those two, but I don't think it'll ever be canon. The show has been pretty clear about the nature of their relationship. And it's still my fave relationship on the show.

I generally ship things that I know will probably never happen and my life seems SO much easier than the people get stressed about it and involved in fandom wars. I guess I like playing around with ideas in my head but am not invested in being "right" it's all just a bit of fun to me.

Agree completely with your second paragraph. Shipping is great fun as long as you don't take it too seriously. And with a lot of shows, the fic is better than the actual canon so I feel like if my ships became canon, I'd just be disappointed at how terrible the show wrote them compared to the fandom.
