One that used to be popular a long time ago but unfortunately isn't anymore: when one character gets so angry at/jealous about/overwhelmed by desire for their lover that s/he almost rapes them. One of those things that seems to have fallen out of style simply because it's BS in real life -- IMO that shouldn't be a reason not to indulge in it in fic, because it's very hot as a fanfic fantasy.
