Hitting each other. Not one-sided abuse, but stormy-relationship-violence between characters who canonically engage in a lot of violence.

Yes! I like the idea of two characters who are violent and short-tempered just tearing into each other and slugging it out, while they also rip of close and kiss and grope and whatnot. More of that!

I like this, too. A lot.

I remember when Battlestar Galactica was airing and the episode Scar came out, and I thought Kara and Lee boxing, beating the crap out of each other, and then winding up hugging and crying was just the hottest damn thing ever. Sure, I felt bad for Anders and Dee, but I was just "buhh." And then I remember all the people writing crap that was all, "how can anyone ship this? This is not love! This is terrible and unhealthy!" They just couldn't get that that was part of the appeal.
