I'm pretty convinced at this point that OP habitually talks shit behind people's backs and doesn't like it when people find out and call them on it.

Either that or OP was not let down gently by someone they liked and are convinced that all people should be expected to let people down gently no matter what they did or they're horrible.

I don't habitually talk behind people's backs, but I do it when I want to and don't feel bad about it. There's nothing wrong with it, no matter what y'all say.

I think if you're making the choice to only talk to people who you "know won't tell on you," you probably care about being told on.

I had this friend who I was close to enough for them to be talking shit about mutual friends behind their backs, while in front of them would act like their super good buds and compliment them.

When they confessed to me, I rejected mainly for this reason.
