38. I think Reborn is one of those series where there's a lot more under the surface if you're willing to give it a chance and look at it really hard, instead of just taking everything at face value. I think it was more unique before the Kokuyou arc, when it was still playing up the zany comedy, but even if it reads more like every other shounen on the planet now, I love the character development that came with the serious arcs, because yeah. Tsuna definitely isn't a Sora clone. They're all pretty well developed, interesting characters, IMO.

I am also, apparently unlike much of fandom, very secure and happy in my gender and gender preferences.

It's very cute, and I like the way they're devoted to each other but don't like admitting it at all, but it's just not a big thing with me. I guess I'm not heavily into m/m in general though I have my pairings.

But idolizing male/male relationships over anything else... I can't relate. Even people I know who are really only into slash don't usually seem to do that, and I don't get where it comes from.

No, I was agreeing completely. I enjoy my favorite ships not because of gender, but character dynamic. M/m worship though is seriously wtf. I mean, my big thing is sociology, and I have NO idea where the basis for this particular idolatry is.
