(Anonymous) 2015-06-02 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)I think it annoys me the most because Tony CLEARLY has the most resources out of all them. He's rich -- he has Pepper and Rhodey and Bruce. He's gone to therapy.
That's not to say that he doesn't have issues but FUCK ME fandom, why are we having the guy who grew up with enormous health issues in the Great Depression with a single mother, fought in WWII, and lost everyone he knew and loved after basically killing himself for the greater good be his emotional crutch? WHY?

It just seems like Steve Rogers is tailor made for whump. Not only does he have the tragic past...and present but he looks adorable as fuck!

The only way I'd be more okay with it is if there was a fic that started off with one of the other characters using Steve as an emotional crutch and then Steve cracking and everybody realizing that no he's actually dealing with a shitton of stuff and they need to stop being selfish when it comes to Steve.
