Vivi's a constant in my party, too. :D I usually go with Zidane, Dagger, Vivi, and Amarant. I love the others, but I've gotta pick four, so.

I loved how in that game you could hit one of the shoulder buttons and turn almost any spell into a full party/enemy party heal/attack, rather than having some spells that could only heal/attack one person at a time. :O

I do the same, but Eiko instead of Vivi.

That was so useful! It was one of the reasons I used Eiko. When against one enemy she could summon Carbuncle for reflect, then Vivi could cast on the party, and the enemy gets multi-hits :D They made a good team.
