7- Guess what? Then stop the wank and drama and crazy! Maybe I have a different friends list than you but I've never seen anyone go Harmony sucks, here's a bash H/Hr fans for no reason post! It's more like they find specific instances of crazy and laugh at that which hell why shouldn't they?

Most OBHWF fans could care less if people ship Harry/Hermione and if you don't act like a wanker or some crazy extremist about it (which very possibly, you don't- I don't know), I doubt they would make fun of you for it. Just because they're laughing at specific crazy Harmony situations, doesn't mean they mean you.

Do you see them laughing at Dramione fans or Harry/Ron fans or whatever? No, people laugh at the Harmonians and the Puppyshippers because they bring it on themselves with their acts of extreme wankitude and their warped perceptions of the series. And by warped perceptions I don't mean the ships themselves. I mean abusive Ron and slut Ginny and all the like. We're sick of all the vitrol towards our pairings AND the characters we like.

If you think that H/Hr shippers are the only ones that provide wank, then you're definitely mistaken. Every ship has the crazies. I don't know why that ship in particular has to get all the trash talk. Probably because it's such a big and prolific ship. But you can't tell me that even canon shippers are all perfectly nice and normal and entirely without the crazy.

I mean abusive Ron and slut Ginny and all the like.

Putting all shippers under the heading of 'crazy h/hr shippers' is hardly the way to go about it. Laughing at all H/Hr shippers wether they're obsessive and insane or not is hardly the way to go. Generalizations don't help anyone.

It gets it because of the wank after HBP for the most part. Not all H/Hr fans did of course. However, they were by far the most vocal and even hateful faction who so often violently threatened Jo Rowling. There's also just the pure dedication to an almost extremist level of some of the more active Harmonians. Teachers who graded down their students for not seeing H/Hr, entire forums raising money to put ads in major magazines talking about how Jo should have written Harmony, the symbolism, and of course the conspiracy theorists who went on about how Jo changed her mind from writing Harmony. All this behavior is... extremely lol-ish and a bit scary to be true.

You're correct on many accounts. What I said in the second part of my reply is that I don't think members have a huge problem itself with H/Hr, but instead the behavior of so many of the fans. If an H/Hr fan is being friendly and err... sane I can't imagine most people in the fandom would have any issue with them. If this person is a level headed shipper (and by admitting H/Hr is canon they're already more level headed than some of them) then I don't think her friends are probably referring to her when they laugh at Harmonians and they shouldn't worry about it. I supported the idea that generalizations are not the way to go.
