I felt the same way about the last Hobbit films. I kept checking his blog since he was still alive at that point and I'd read his comments on the first one. I really wanted to know his thoughts.

Same.
I checked out the site recently, but I couldn't really get behind the people they have writing the reviews now. It's just not the same without him.

Now you made me sad.

And, yes, I think he would have liked it too. Though I think he would have preferred Gibson's Max to Hardy's Max. But he would have loved the Doof Warrior.

I wish every day I could still read Roger Ebert's reviews for films, tbqh.

If there's a heaven, maybe you get to see all the good movies there.

MTE, this is the first film since his death that has really made me go "maaan, and Ebert will never see it."

I feel that way for a lot of movies. I wish Roger Ebert were still alive. We need more people like Roger Ebert and Pauline Kael. (especially her, since her reviews tends to lean towards the snarky, which I loved reading in the library. You have to read her Sound of Music review, plus she loved "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" and "The Exorcist II: The Heretic")
