I wish I could get you to watch this series with me. Not just because I know you'd like it. (You totally would, there's Yokai and Ninja and a female character who is actually competent and cool.)
[Below is the cast of Shuriken Sentai Ninninger. Written in pink above Kasumi/Momoninger is "AWESOME." Written in white above Fuuma/Shironinger is "NOT SO MUCH." There are three dudes in the middle that this secret doesn't care about.]
But because we're drifting apart now that you're in a relationship, and I'm worried I'll lose my best friend.
[In smaller text](Also you're the only friend I have IRL I can talk about this with.)

Sometimes it takes people a while to come from the "new relationship" bubble. Hopefully once (s)he does, you'll have your friend again. :)

I've been in that situation and had it end both ways (the friendship went back to normal, the friendship was doomed) but there is every possibility that this could be a temporary thing. People can grow apart for so many reasons though (and sometimes there's not much you can do about it, even if you make an effort to prevent it from getting worse) so whatever happens, try not to take it too personally. It might hurt, but sometimes there is no mistake.

That happens a lot when people get into new relationships, and it really does suck. But if you make sure to maintain contact, even if it's not at the level that you're used to, your friendship will most likely survive this. Once s/he comes down off the new relationship high, s/he'll have more time to spend with you again.

Is Ninninger good? I liked the first episode and keep forgetting to check back. I'm really bad at keeping up with current-running shows. I ask because I loved Kyoryuger to death, it was my first super sentai really. Afterwards I didn't follow ToQger and from what I gathered, it wasn't very good. Then I got hype about Ninninger because two girls and ninja, haha. I'd talk about it with you.

I'm sorry about your friend though. I'm sure they'd enjoy spending half an hour every week with you watching? Give them time if it's a new relationship. Those are shiny and exciting. Maybe soon they'll be glad to have a Ninninger marathon with you.

um, ToQger was damn awesome, I'm not sure who told you it wasn't

+1, ToQger was amazing.

Gave up on Ninninger after the third episode though.

Wow a Ninninger secret!? That's hot :D

I'm in a similar situation myself with a friend who have lots of real life commitments and can't afford the time to commit to a running tokusatsu show. Still, there's lots of episodes to go for this year's Sentai. While your friend may not be able to watch the show with you on a weekly basis, there's still a chance that your friend may become intrigued once there's a considerable backlog of episodes and ultimately get into it with you. I'm hoping that my friend would be roped in too and for now, I'm looking out for stuff that would bait her interest and present it in the form of fanworks in hopes to attract her and maybe some other potential fan. And if your friend is a fan of toku or even just the Sentai franchise, there will still be next show and more shows to come.

And since you say that your friend is the only person you can discuss the show with IRL, does that mean that you know people online you can talk about the show with? If that's the case, perhaps it's a good chance to foster more friendships and gain fannish friends. For about the first ten episodes of the show's airing, I tried to read as much fan opinions on the show as possible on any platforms I could find (Tumblr/Twitter/Forums etc.) and post graphics in the tags as often as possible. While I had to stop because the hype backlash became too pervasive, I still ended up getting to know more people in the fandom so it isn't totally a lost cause. And as fans tend to stay in Toku/Sentai fandom for a long time given its nature, perhaps you can even extend online fannish friendships to real life. I have yet to experience this, but I've seen many instances of this in toku fandom.

May you continue to enjoy Ninninger and eventually get to share your joy with your friend :)
