Got my bottom wisdom teeth out today, and I'm still alive!

Apparently I didn't do/say anything funny, though, except be incapable of walking like a sober person.

Now I'm just at the "switch out gauze whenever and ice the shit out of your face" part of things.

And I can't feel my lips, which is really the whole reason I'm posting tbh: How long should my lips/that area be out of commission re: feeling wise? Because I can't feel for shit. And I'm already missing hamburgers. :(

IME it was a day or so before I started feeling comfortable eating anything, and 4 or 5 days before I was comfortable eating substantial food. IDK tho, I'm not a doctor.

In terms of numbness, I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep on that vicodin train.

Also, yogurt drinks are highly pro when you can't eat solid food, just saying.

It'll be a few hours most likely. It depends on the person and how much they drugged you up, but I recall it taking a little time to wear off.

A while before you feel your lip, when the anestesia is gone. Prooobably a bit longer before you can eat burgers again, though, but you'll get chummy with soups and bland food!

Depends on how much freezing you got and whether the oral surgeon decided to re-freeze at any time during the procedure, but usually you can expect to feel numb for 3-5 hours afterward.

Depends on the person. I've had friends who were fine after a couple days. I had all four wisdom teeth removed at once and it was two weeks before I could eat solid food. :(

Don't hesitate to contact your doctor in a few days if it's painful. There are ointments and special cavity fillings.
Good luck!

I don't know if your doctor warned you about not drinking from straws, but DO NOT DRINK FROM STRAWS. The suction can pull the clot out of your socket and dry socket is terrible. :(
