a little disapointed that they've "prettied" it up a little, dunwall was so dirty and real but everyone in the trailer is creepily clean and unmarked. Everything is too bright. Hmmm.

you also get to be corvo, so yay different perspectives but tbh i didn't want to play him again, his time has been and gone. EMILY

I hate video games but tbh I saw a little of the trailer and it just looks so fucking cool + badass

Riiiiiight? Like, what's all this "you'll just be the assassin they said you were" stuff? What exactly have you been up to, Ms. Kaldwin? I need to know.

And, I dunno, I don't mind playing Corvo again, but first playthrough definitely goes to Emily, and the majority of subsequent playthroughs will go to her as well, heh.

I was assuming that if Corvo has been training her then the rumours are likely to be popping up left right and centre about her being an assassin. SO looking forward to the rumours, loved catching those snippets over conversations.

Yeah, first play through as Emily, second as corvo, assuming we have low/high chaos again i'll do the chaos I didn't do first as Emily again, then emily for the achievement run, then corvo again in a low chaos to see the differences and will probably also use corvo for any fucking around just due to control familiarity i.e. killing everyone and disposing of bodies so i can take screenshots safely.

That is a good point, but I imagine it must also have something to do with whatever's gone "wrong," and with the fact that she's, well, dishonored. Give that it's a different part of the world, I wonder if there are some slightly different social norms that play into it, as well.

Based on what they were saying, it sounds like there definitely is gonna be low and high chaos again. I think I'll probably just do a high chaos run with Corvo and do everything else with Emily.

I think the line was actually "You'll be the assassin we claimed you were". So they've been lying about Emily deeds? Sounds like they set her up in some way.

Either way I'm super excited for this game. It's been a long ass time since Dishonored and I didn't dare to hope for a sequel (someone on tumblr posted a list that said Dishonored 2 was going to be announced at E3 and I laughed and went, "While that would be incredible you are going to be disappointed" and then THIS HAPPENED.)

And yea, I loved Corvo, but who cares about Corvo when we have Emily? (At least on the first play-through! I imagine I'll get around to him eventually, but I'm excited to see what other abilities she has, how much she's changed and just what exactly her story is.)

Re-watched the trailer, and you're right! There must have been some sort of disinformation campaign.

I honestly had no idea there was gonna be a sequel at all. Didn't come across any rumors or lists or anything, so it was a very, very pleasant surprise to see it announced! I've been abuzz with the news all day.

~Intrigue~! You're right, Emily is damn angry and it pleases me more than it should. ~~Both because of the potential for interesting character development and storytelling, and also...she's damn hot when pissed.~~

So IDK, but everything is exciting! (New places to see, new people to meet and kill...)

Me neither. (Before a couple days ago, and that was just speculation.) I know everyone wanted one (I did too, but it seemed unlikely) but I didn't hope for one either. This was a lovely surprise! (And I am SO glad that Emily was in the trailer instead of it being all Corvo and like one shot of Emily at the end.)

It's a cinematic trailer so the game won't look quite the same I guess. And the guards are still as ugly as ever haha! But I'm super excited about Emily'so powers. And I really hope we'll get an in-game reaction from Corvo about The Outsider giving his precious baby creepy tentacle powers... Probably not but it would be nice, considering he was such a neutral character in the first game with his most defining trait being his worry for Emily.

Also very happy to see the Outsider again- hopefully there will be some additional lore in that game.
