"Girls aren't strong enough to climb things?" LOL is that for real?

I'll have to tell my female mountain climber friend that she's been fooling herself all these years.

Nevermind that the main character is an eight-year-old boy and the difference in strength between the sexes is almost negligible at that point. This is someone so unbearably daft that he thinks it's not "realistic" for a woman to have the strength to "climb things."

For real though, has he never seen female rock climbers before. Or gymnasts. Or women at all, ever. Like, how dark is his basement. Isn't the clerk at the combini mutters at deep in the middle of the night when he crawls out of his apartment once a week to buy food occasionally a female human? Did he not notice, those times, that she had limbs with which she could climb objects?
