Preparing a garden party ... suggestions for easy, summery party-food, please?

I dunno, quiche? Maybe some potato salad.

Do you have a barbecue, anon? Because grilled things are always good.

If not, maybe tiny sandwhiches?

Fruit Pizza. But don't do a big pizza. Use sugar cookies so people can make individual, get a large variety of fruit. If there are kids, they will especially enjoy this.

Those tiny little sandwiches with cucumber and cream cheese! Those come to mind immediately with the words "garden party".

And these don't really fit "garden party", but come to mind for summery party food...

Potato salad, hamburgers, hot dogs, possibly bbq chicken, corn on the cob, baked beans, salad, veggies with dip, sliced cheeses with various crackers, tortilla chips and salsa and/or bean dip and/or queso, and fruit with whipped cream and maybe angel food cake for dessert.

At least those are the things my family always has for cookouts/summertime get togethers.

People still have garden parties? I don't know anyone like that!

If you want a cocktail, I discovered this new one recently:
2 cups Mango sorbet
6 ounces Vodka or gin (I used mango vodka)
2 cups Tonic water or soda water

Combine all ingredients in a blender. If you have them, you can add mint leaves on top. This is a 2 person serving, so double/triple/whatever depending on how many people.

It is really good. You can also always add more vodka.

You'll definitely want to grill food -- it's easy to do, just requires someone willing to stand near the heat for a while and watch the food. Hot dogs, hamburgers, even chicken if you cook it long enough.

(Oh god I want BBQ chicken now, goddammit)

Me too. And I had some for lunch yesterday.

I'd try to do a lot of foods that are good cold or room temperature. Creative dips/spreads with veggies and crackers or toasted slices of baguette, salads, stuff you can make on the grill like shishkabobs, cold noodle dishes. Going tea party themed is nice too, you can make a big assortment of finger sandwiches, scones, cake, etc.

Don't forget neat drinks, too. Raspberry lemonade! Sparkling wine punches! A lot of those can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic depending on what you want. Or how about iced coffee?

Pinwheel sandwiches.

Gets some cold cuts, your favorite sandwich spread and flour tortillas. Make a wrap by putting a thin layer of spread, along with your choice of cold cuts. Roll it up and slice it across making mini wraps. Place them on a tray. Enjoy.

Dips! Lots of dips and crudité and breads and crackers.

Fruit salsas, spinach dips, onion dips... ceviche... you can't go wrong with that.

I actually had a fish-themed party last weekend, and the punch I made was insanely popular. (Recipe here:http://www.entirelyeventfulday.com/2012/11/tidal-wave-lemonade-recipe.html?m=1) I'd also look into grilled veggies and green onion dip. I made this dip in about 5 minutes, and it's also good on salad greens. (http://emerils.com/122761/green-dressing)
