Well, I would have made it clear who the character was, if only I wasn't so damn embarrassed by it.

It's one thing to have a crush on a character, but having entire songs reminding me of myself/them does make me feel just a tiny bit pathetic. Not to mention he's an awful character personality-wise, I'm pretty sure I'd get laughed at and/or judged if I said who it was.

Everyone's had at least one weird fandom crush so I'm sure we wouldn't judge you.

Unless it was Ramsay Snow. (kidding!)

He's usually at the heart of these sorts of discussions and some people judge Thramsay shippers hard anyway, so I imagine Ramsay/self might be judged even harder.

No, it's not Ramsay. Mine's not -quite- as bad, I mean, at his worst he's an annoying, back-stabbing, incompetent,smug, spineless asshole. But hey, at least he's not sadistic! (I think.)

Frankly, I haven't heard of anyone who actually ships themselves with this character, even though there probably is at least someone, out there, who does.

Well, obviously, I understand that. It's just that it's not a big fandom, most people wouldn't even know who I'm talking about. Also, I guess I'm not that embarrassed about having a crush on them (I've seen people posting secrets about it before), it's the shipping and songs part I'm embarrassed of.

Also AYRT - if it helps at all, I've totally shipped myself with Grant Ward from Agents of SHIELD. He is such a giant murdering douchebag, I'm like, WTF brain?

As I said, it's not really the crush bit I find embarrassing, because I've seen secrets about that before, so I guess it's not all that uncommon. It's the shipping and the songs...I mean, who the fuck accidentally ends up shipping themselves with Oliver Reeder? (for those who don't know it's a character from a show called The Thick of It). Who actually associates these (imho) really good, lovely songs with such a shit character? Apart from being cute, he hardly has any redeemable qualities. I think shipping oneself with Hannibal would actually be much less embarrassing.

Yeah, sorry OP, but I cannot really imagine what makes you connect those songs with such a twat. At least Hannibal has his charms, Oliver Reeder is just an asshole with, as you say, no redeeming qualities what so ever. Well at least the mystery has been solved.

Aw, OP, don't listen to the anon. I think your crush is kind of sweet; there's nothing wrong with you shipping yourself or imagining yourself with anyone, as long as that makes you happy and doesn't hurt anyone. And, sure, Olly is awful, but I still loved him in a weird way. Those are beautiful songs, by the way.
