(Anonymous) 2015-06-17 01:16 am (UTC)(link)One of them people would probably find ridiculous because he's the stereotypical macho alpha male type but if you actually pay attention to his relationship history and how he acts around women, it seems like he's either asexual or gay and closeted, and since the tough guy lead can't possibly be gay I think asexual is actually more likely.
The other one there's been no canon mention of what his sexuality is but he's been the subject of anti-gay comments from other characters which I think is supposed to be not-so-subtle foreshadowing that he's going to be revealed as gay eventually. And I feel like headcanoning a character that may be confirmed as gay someday as asexual would be considered "problematic" to some people.
I know of one situation where someone got attacked because they dared to ship a character who's been shown in canon to be romantically interested in women, with a woman, because the actor is rumored to be gay. People are nuts.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-17 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)I think "eagerly" is the key word there. I guess if a character had sex but didn't seem very enthusiastic or into it, I could see where someone could maybe think they were asexual. People have headcanoned characters as asexual with less evidence, anyway.
But Dean's definitely ruled out. From his behavior, there's just NO WAY he's asexual.
