Agreed so much on that 'description isn't easy' insanity. And I mean, even in original fiction, why do you need that much description? Basic physical traits like hair and skin color should only be given upon the character's introduction, if at all. If later on there is a need to wax poetic about the glimmer of sunlight in someone's red hair or the sexy sheen of sweat on their dark skin... well there are infinitely better ways to do that without reducing the character to "the redhead" or "the black man".
