5. Wait... what? People complain about lesbians in fandom? When did this happen?

33. I think I may have read that article, or at least one that made the same argument -- that our aversion to incest is rooted in biology and evolution. The one I read talked a lot about inbreeding, though, even though it was "supposed" to be about incest -- huge difference between the two.

36. Johnny Lingo! Oh man, we watched that in my high school Physics class (although it was the more recent one, which I don't know if it's the same as the old one). I don't even remember why.

I haven't watched the newer version of Johnny Lingo, but I've read a bit about it and from what I understand it's like an expanded version of the first movie, which didn't have anything about Johnny Lingo's childhood--it starts when Johnny comes to the island to negotiate with Mahana's father for her hand in marriage, and there's no mention of them being childhood friends or a pledge.

oh, nevermind. I get it -- just those specific examples? I agree it's probably not as widespread as people make it out to be. The phrase "fandom lesbians" is waaaay too broad and misleading, though, since it makes me think simply of lesbians in fandom.
