5. You make a good point, and it's a fine subject for a secret. However, I do think the girls who entertain little obsessions with people online, and decide that they're 'lesbians' - even when they're attracted to men - are being rather tasteless. It's like using Yiddish slang, and consequently declaring oneself to be Jewish, or reading the IHAD speech by MLK and deciding to identify as black. An identity that is inescapable for some, becomes a fashion accessory to be tried on and cast away when bored with it.

I agree. However, I also think that sexuality is an easier identity to toy with when you're young and still trying to figure yourself out, so I don't begrudge them their identification.

It's not for me or anyone else to say that this obsession won't turn into something deeper.

Anyway, in summary - I agree, and thank you for your thoughtful comment and secret, but I still find the lesbian play-acting a bit annoying. Though not half as annoying as some people seem to.
