5. Word. People get so uptight about "OMGZ UR REALLY/NOT REALLY A LESBIAN/STRAIGHT/ASEXUAL/INSERT ORIENTATION HERE" and they really ought to shut up because it doesn't matter.

33. Uhhhh I don't understand why it makes you a bad person to think that's okay. The only trouble with incest is that it messes up the gene pool; they were extremely careful about protection; therefore there's no trouble. If that article went on about how it's GROSS and UNNATURAL then they're just being dumb.

37. I don't really care what you think about Sweeney but this was really hilariously phrased. "I didn't like this movie. GOD OF F!S HAS SPOKEN NO MORE OPINIONS ARE RELEVANT." Grow up plzkthnx.

The article went on to talk about how our automatic reactions are biologically ingrained to think it's icky. because of the genepool issues. Which weirded me out because I didn't have that "ick" reaction.

I once read an article arguing that the taboo against incest is not biological but social. Besically the writer argued that it has very little to do with the genetic problems, because those would usually take several generations to show up. It had more to do with the fact that marriage was a transaction between families, and if two siblings are sleeping with each other, their family would lose out on the benefits of trading them to another family. Same deal with the primitive taboo against homosexuality.

That always made more sense to me, since there are lots of examples of sibling incest in royal families, and if any kind of family has an impetus to keep a healthy gene pool, you'd think it would be royal families.

Eh, I'm still not buying it. Particularly because animals in the wild have been known to mount and even produce young with their close relatives, and if we're somehow more in tune with our biological impulses than them then something has gone seriously wrong with logic.

What about the part where it screws up normal family relationships? People have forgotten it's possible to be close to someone without wanting to fuck them.

That's not going to be the case for everyone, though. I understand that most siblings aren't going to want to have sex with each other, and in a lot of cases it would screw up the relationship. But that doesn't mean there can't be a few cases like this hypothetical one where it is desired and it doesn't have a negative impact on the relationship.

As for your last comment, in another context I would agree with it but in this one it's just ridiculous. I never said all siblings should sleep together, I just think that in isolated circumstances where they really want to and aren't going to make inbred babies they should feel free.
