Image: Never Mind The Buzzcocks set

Panel shows are the only shows that frequently make me laugh out loud. I love them for that.

Others I find funny on an intellectual level, or make me smile. But I can’t remember the last time one made me laugh.

S!B: Part of why is probably because they vicariously fulfill my longing to play trivia/bluffing games with friends. I don’t have the right friends for that.

I love British panel shows. There's no need to remember plot details or who's who, so they're perfect to pass the time when you need distraction. Buzzcocks wasn't my favorite, but I'll miss it, too. :(

Would I Lie to You is the best thing ever.

I love Never Mind the Buzzcocks

So I'm intrigued that there's maybe something better out there! Which *is* your favorite, OP?

/not the OP

I like:

Would I Lie to You?
8 out of 10 Cats
QI
Mock the Week

Not a panel show, but I also enjoy Russell Howard's Good News.

AYRT

Thank you! I will see if I can find these on youtube (that's where I get my NMTB fix).

Echoing anon above. WILTY's my favourite, it actually only inched above NMTB because I'm just not a big enough music buff. But hey, cheesy music videos are a universal language, and that I enjoyed the show so much anyway was testament to how entertaining it was. And I never got around to the 2014 series (or the pre-guest host ones), so I haven't had the chance to appreciate it without the hit-or-miss guest hosts.

I just want to add Have I Got News For You and The Big Fat Quiz of The Year.

I've also been watching Was It Something I Said?, which only ran for one series in 2013. My personal nitpick is the apocrypha presented without comment, but it still had me laughing at moments.

Panel shows aren't my favourite kind of TV but I do enjoy watching them when I want something fun and easy to watch, Never Mind the Buzzcocks was always one of my favourites but I quite like Would I Lie to You and QI as well.

Me too, OP! I love lots of comedy, but the only kind that always has me genuinely laughing out loud is panel shows.
