I don't know, OP. I understand the wishful thinking part but I tend to think that the sort of personality traits that make a person a loner are also the same traits that mean they're less likely to work well in a group. It's not just happenstance and rotten luck that you haven't met "the right people". For some people, there are no "right people" when it comes to creative collaboration.
