Who...?

(Anonymous) 2015-06-19 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I have no idea who this lousy debutante is. To be fair, I don't know any debutantes, lousy or otherwise. Is being a debutante still a thing?

(Anonymous) 2015-06-19 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Sort of, but not the way it once was. This is one example that's probably the closest to the old-fashioned tradition:

It's a huge thing in rural Australia, where all the bogan farm kids (including me!) dress up for the night and do some dances we learned. Very important social event, then everyone goes and gets shit-faced on someone's farm.

The only appropriate comment is, Who is this?

Seriously. I have no idea.

(Anonymous) 2015-06-19 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Is she from the Capitol?

Best response.

Is there a show about debutantes I haven't heard of? And how old is this girl? She looks about 13, and I thought debutantes were 16.

She's like 18 or something and she's Dakota Fanning's sister.

I hate her stale acting and feel like she's only getting roles for being a newcomer/debutante in the business (which is only possible due to her sister's fame anyway).

TLDR: O.P is a Film major and would not hire Elle Fanning even if she paid me.
Her sister though...

That kid is 18? Holy cow, I feel old.

I wouldn't worry about ever being in a position to hire Elle Fanning if I were you.

Too bad that the ones who are in said position choose to hire her and make unwatcheble films. e_e

That film...Was terrible...
It's as if no one's ever seen the original animated Disney version because I can't otherwise imagine how they could swallow down Malificent.

LOL yup, you sure do sound like a film major.

Psst: most people don't give as much of a shit as you do right now, and you won't in ten years, when you're doing something else with your life because your degree is completely worthless. Enjoy being insufferable and thinking you "know things" while you can, I guess.

I was too, i was just as snotty as you were when i started first year at 19, but then i graduated in 03 and the only work available was as a government secretary. Full benefits, pension, job security, damn right i took it. Worked there until becoming permanently disabled and unable to work any job in 2010. Now i understand how very little uni teaches you about REAL life and actual employment opportunities. They were there to tell me to reach for my dreams while they reached out emptying my wallet eight years into the future. They sell the dream and real life hits you like a smack in the face to crush those dreams on your first month of the job search. But good luck with that attitude anyway.

the original animated Disney film was and is still my favorite of all animated Disney films and I loved Maleficent

mind blown (y/n)?

It's Elle Fanning

(Anonymous) 2015-06-19 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh. I actually kinda like her (and I'm a theatre major, so yeah - OP was talking about being a film student).

(Anonymous) 2015-06-20 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
It's so funny how she looked so much like her big sister when they were younger and now she looks rather strange imo.
