Then you'd be better off approaching people who you know read both these authors and already voiced that opinion of GRRM rather than randomly polling people. I mean, if you're going to be a zealot about policing other people for hypocrisy, it helps to do your homework.

I don't know what movie this is referring to, but I can relate to gross creeplord. I'm definitely there when it comes to a few fanfic tropes.
People who love me would cry BUT WHYYYYY??? if they knew. But that's what fiction is for, folks!

If she has almost every male character get raped or get threatened with rape or mentions nameless BG male characters getting raped while female characters face nothing of the sort even in contexts where it would happen, then yes, she is a GRRM tier gross creeplord.

I interpreted that comment as meaning that the characters wanted to lie to themselves about it so they could pretend that the baby was conceived between them and the woman could deceive herself into believing that she was carrying the child of her husband rather than her rapist's. It's fucked up but I kind of get it

Is this some kind of sci fi series? Cos surely if it's set in the real world, you would have an abortion?

It's historical, in a time period where abortions were not safe. At least, I'm assuming it is, the series has a certain amount of uncontrollable time travel.

A lot of it takes place in the mid 1700s iirc. Abortions during that time period were actually safer and more commonplace than many people assume (it was almost always induced herbally though. Surgical abortions were relatively rare during that time period) but even so, there were still risks and the methods weren't always effective. Then again, actually giving birth during that time period was probably still more risky all things considered
